Lemon and ginger cake

This is a bit scruffy looking but tasted so much nicer than it looks! I'm gonna start rating the success of my cakes by how quickly they disappear from the kitchen at work. Made with fresh grated ginger, filled with lemon and ginger curd and covered in lemon cream cheese icing. I also used it as a practice run of trying to get my buttercream smoother! Worked(ish), minus the bits where the cake shows through..
